SUBAREA PLANNING
The last round of subarea planning meetings concluded the second week of June 2008. The City held four meetings in each subarea (Carver, the Foster Corridor, the Buttes, and Sunshine Valley/Royer Road). The main goals of the subarea planning are to:
- Organize a way for the subareas of Damascus to plan for their future and make formal recommendations to the City;
- Clarify the opportunities and constraints regarding growth of the areas for the 20-year horizon as part of the comprehensive planning process; and
- Further define the subareas, their respective boundaries and relationships to each other and the city as a whole.
Next steps include developing a subarea report by the consultants, which will be available later this summer. The Community Coordinating Committee (C3) will review the subarea report and develop a comprehensive plan framework map through the end of 2008.
